Field Trip

The Department of History, HATIM in collaboration with NSS HATIM had organized a Field Trip within the areas of Pukpui and Zotlang on 31st August 2022 as part of "Know Your Local History (Exploration of Caves)".
The team members comprised of the teaching faculties of History Department as well as 5th Semester Students.
As per the request by the Department, the Village Council of Pukpui was kind enough in providing three local guides.
Three caves were explored namely, Puksei, Pukthiang, and Bakpuk. The first two caves are from Pukpui while the last is from Zotlang.
Among the caves, Puksei was inhabited during the freedom struggle movement. Pukthiang is said to have the activities of elephants rubbing themselves based on the presence of earth on the walls. Bakpuk is a natural cave that is inhabited by bats.
Presently, no human activities are known to be associated with this cave. The program was concluded around 5pm in the evening. It was an adventerous trip with multiple areas of learning.
